UPDATE: Fraser Valley win Men's U16, U18 and Women's U19; Vancouver Island win Women's U17.

Twenty-two teams from across the province are competing at UBC Wolfson Fields in four different age grade categories: U16 Men, U18 Men, U17 Women and U19 Women.

There are four finals today to determine the winners in the four age groups.

Dave Tucker, Head Coach of the Vancouver U18 Team has announced the trial dates for selection to the U18 Regional Team that will play in the Provincial Regional Championships (PRC) July 3rd 4th & 5th @ UBC - Wolfson Fields

Open Trials have been set as follows:

Saturday, June 6th & Sunday, June 7th:
In Vancouver @ Brockton Oval
Saturday - 10.00am to 2:00pm
and
Sunday 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Be there early for registration.

BRING a light Lunch
BRING sunscreen
BRING a mouth guard

We will have lots of Water, Gatorade and snacks and Ice
A Trainer will be there on both Saturday and Sunday.

Camp Fee: The Fee of $20.00 for players attending this trial. This fee can be paid on the day of the trial to Team Manager, Connie McGinley

Hello All,

Just wanted to touch base with regards to the Tsunami teams. The schedule is listed below with everything kicking off on June-7.

Please make sure to tell your players that if they wish to try-out they must have a BCRU registration form filled out, and signed by a legal guardian. Any player that registered and played in either the U19 fall club season or the U16 spring club season is already registered. Please note that those that were registered for the fall junior school season through the BCRU must re-register.

Training begins this coming Sunday, May 31st for girl's born in 1992 or later for the Fraser Valley team. Please be at Langley RFC for 12 noon. Two further sessions will be held Wednesday, June the 3rd at 6:15 at Aldergrove Community Secondary School and Sunday, June 7th at 11:00am at Langley RFC.

The BC U 17 girls ID camp is also running on the 31st. If you are attending the camp please notify Valley Head Coach Jen Thiel at jenthiel@shaw.ca and then attend Wednesdays training.

I am the manager of the U-18 Crimson Tide ( lower Island ) wkelly@shaw.ca .
Adrian Barwin and Nigel Seale are the Managers of the U-16 Crimson TIde.

To correct some information, the Tide sent teams on the boys side for both U-16 and U18 last year and will again this year.

The Tide U-18's are training on Mondays / Tuesdays and Thurdays starting June 2nd.

Lower Vancouver Island U-18 Men’s Rugby Program

- Program focus is on development of Rugby skills
- Program will run every Tuesday (6-8 P.M.) and Thursday (7 -9 P.M.) evening at Windsor Park in conjunction with the Crimson Tide and Jr Tide Programs
- Program will run from June 5 2007 until the end of July when the Super League winds up
- The emphasis is improvement of each individuals skills and abilities by practicing with and learning from the highest caliber players and coaches on Vancouver Island
- To qualify for provincial and national programs you must be enrolled in this program
- You must be enrolled with Rugby Canada to participate in this program. If you are not enrolled and registered with Rugby Canada a $70 fee will apply (to Cover insurance cost only). For example, if you have played club rugby in 2006-2007 then you should be registered with RC and no fee will apply.

A competition element to the program will be available with selected athletes attending the Provincial Rugby Championships at UBC on July 6-8 2007. There is a cost to participate in this program of approx $225-250. This includes transport from Vancouver Island and back, two nights accommodation at UBC, breakfast and lunches, and your rugby kit which you get to keep.

Another competitive opportunity is a touring team from Yorkshire tentatively set for July 28.

Try outs @ Magee Secondary School - 6360 Maple Street (49th and Maple - back field)
Sunday, June 3rd - 11 AM to 1 PM
Tuesday, June 5th - 6 to 7:30 PM
Thursday, June 7th - 6 to 7:30 PM
(Must attend @ least 2 sessions)

Training will be on: Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursday.
BRING: Rugby kit, Mouth guards and Water bottles

Provincial Regional Championships - PRC (formerly the Japan Cup)
July 6th to 8th @ Wolfson Fields - UBC

U16 - Vancouver West Rep Team
Born in 1991 or 1992
Open to all U16 rugby players who live in Vancouver.
Must be BCRU Registered (I will have forms)
Fee for the PRC - approx. $150.00 (Rugby Kit etc.)

Tryouts for Vancouver East Team:

Sunday June 3 at 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Monday June 4 at 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Wednesday June 6 at 6:00 - 7: 30 PM

All practices at Burnaby Lake East Sports Complex
